Manchester United Football Club adalah sebuah klub sepak bola Inggris yang berbasis di Old Trafford, Manchester.

Dibentuk sebagai Newton Heath LYR F.C. pada 1878 sebagai tim sepak bola depot Perusahaan Kereta Api Lancashire dan Yorkshire Railway di Newton Heath, namanya berganti menjadi Manchester United pada 1902.

Meski sejak dulu telah termasuk salah satu tim terkuat di Inggris, namun baru pada tahun 1993 Manchester United meraih dominasi yang besar di kejuaraan domestik di bawah arahan Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sejak bergulirnya era Premiership di tahun 1992, Manchester United adalah tim yang paling sukses dengan delapan kali merebut tropi juara.

Kata-kata di atas ditulis pada saat pembukaan Old Trafford tahun 1910. Di kala itu Manchester United baru saja pindah dari stadion lamanya Bank Street di Clayton menuju stadion baru Old Trafford di kawasan Manchester barat. Dibangun tahun 1909 dan menelan biaya sebesar 60,000 poundsterling. Old Trafford memiliki tiga teras di tiga sisi lengkap dengan tempat duduk dan atap. Stadion ini hasil rancangan desainer ternama asal Skotlandia Archibald Leitch, yang juga merancang stadion Hampden Park, Ibrox Stadium dan White Hart Lane.
